Bringing magic back in our every day life

Handmade jewellery - Magic in Every Piece

My name is Alexia Dobre, and I’m the artist behind Fae & Flame Creatures. I have a background in fine arts, set and costume design, and prop making, working across art installations, theatre design , and storytelling through objects.

My practice has always lived somewhere between art and narrative — creating worlds, atmospheres, and characters you can step into or carry with you.

Inspiration

My work is inspired by British and Romanian folklore, as well as wider mythological traditions.
Growing up between stories, symbols, and legends, I was always drawn to creatures that lived at the edge of the visible world — guardians, shapeshifters, and beings that felt both strange and familiar.

Later, during university, I found myself returning again and again to mythology — especially Greek myths — getting lost in their symbolism and quiet magic.

Being surrounded by myths and folktales has always made me feel that magic isn’t something distant or imaginary — it’s woven into everyday life, if you know how to look for it.

At Fae & Flame, I create one-of-a-kind folklore-inspired jewellery creatures, each hand-sculpted slowly and intentionally.

Using techniques from model making and prop design, I sculpt every creature by hand from polymer clay, refine the details, then paint and finish each piece individually. They are sealed with a protective gloss glaze, giving them a soft sheen and durability for everyday wear.

No moulds. No replicas.
Each creature exists only once, in its own shape, expression, and colour.

These are not just decorative objects — they are made to be worn, touched, and kept close, like small companions.

Story driven designs

Every creature is inspired by folklore, myth, and imagined worlds, and each one carries its own story.

Some are protectors.
Some are companions.
Some arrive quietly and stay for a long time.
